I use this item regularly. I used a USB mouse with PS-2 adapter and it works fine. The mouse must be plugged in first for some reason, but that is mentioned in the directions. It automatically switches to the PC that is currently on (if the other one is off), so most of the time I don't need to click the switch or use the hot keys. |

If you are connecting to a laptop docking station, forget it. I just blew $25. Won't work on keyboard or mouse hookups needing USB without an extra adapter. Display from the docking station to my monitor was poor at best. This probably works great on desktop to desktop setups, which is where I used KVM switches in the past, but it's not too hot going docking station to desktop. |
