I ordered this because it was the only web enabled camera for less than $50. Trendnet is a know quantity and I have not been dissapointed. The picture quality is not bad for price. It is defintely NOT for a newbie. I'm a techie and have managed to work around the quirks in setup. For less than than $50 I have something to experiment with and to add to my home-brewed security system. Can't really complain. |

Setting up the camera went along smoothly with the LAN cable plugged in . But when I tried going wireless that's when my problems began. Someone familiar with networking would have had an easier time but with me being a real newbie in that regards I had a real struggle. I finally called support and with the help of a tech named Sam we got it working. Even then it took about 45 minutes with his help to get it working wirelessly. Seems it doesn't like 128 bit encryption so stick to 64 bit. And be sure all your settings match what you have on your router including passwords . Not a plug n play item. I beleieve this camera is discontinued now but I suspect others from this company will be similar in setup. |

The very low transmission range of this product is the main reason I am returning this camera. But examples of the low quality of this product are evident in the poorly written instructions and poor Chinese to English translation. For example they could not even get the correct verb tense in such a error message when the camera is out of range is |

I have been looking for an IP camera for under $100 bucks with features like this camera. Did I mention it is a wireless IP camera! I had this set up in 10 minutes. It has e-mail and ftp setting so that you can send images to cell phones and other servers. I haven't used he software with it, but it has some really great security monitoring features for multiple cameras, with motion detection zones in the picture. It supports dyndns, but I already use that service through my Linksys, so I just type mt dnydns account name, port 81 and I'm in the camera. I set up guest access accounts so that family and friends can see the video via ActiveX or Java. This is a feature rich IP device. |

I was impressed with this camera for the dollars spent. Set up was easy, picture is great. The software is very nice, easy to set up. |
