Excellent for the price
This product is excellent for those who just want to digitally preserve old slides. The quality is very good, especially after making small adjustments in Photoshop. Serious photographers will want a more expensive machine, however.

A Value Product
Can't be beat as a useful product. However as others point out, it falls a bit short on high quality scans. So if you have a slide that you may later want to make into an 8X10 or larger print, have it scanned professionally.

Good for 60 dollars
Thought I'd give it a go since it was inexpensive and I had boxes of slides and negatives. I installed a spare 4G memory card so I could continue without having to download from the internal memory. Each picture is approximately a 1.5 Meg jpg file. I enlarged several to 8X10 which were acceptable. Once I had it set up could continue to scan at a good rate with the larger memory card.

Not hi-def but useful for most uses
The scans are not hi-definition so you can't blow them up too much, but they are very useful for cataloging my thousands of negatives. The scanner is easy to use and comes complete. The most useful accessory would be a large memory card, but it isn't required.

Does What I Need
For the price, this scanner is a great deal. It works well on the 35mm negatives and slides we have accumulated over the years. As with anything it takes time to get the job done, but unless you're willing to pay for a conversion service, this is a great cost-effective way to go. I would recommend this product to anyone.
