I bought this HD to use with my DVR. It does the job well, but it is pretty slow transferring data. If you are looking for storage for your saved television shows and you have plenty of time to save it, this is your HD. I do and have recommended it.
Very disappointed!

I used it one time to back up my pc. It performed as expected, no problems. I unplugged it and it sat on my desktop until yesterday when I tried to do another monthly backup. Unfortunately I can't tell you anything more on how it works because it stopped dead in its tracks. The white led light keeps flashing and the drive is not recognized any longer. I can't hear any activity nor do I feel any vibrations indicating it's working. I tested it on my laptop, tested it with a different usb cord, plugging directly into the wall, not the wall and a whole host of other things. It gave me the same non-working result no matter what I tried.

I got this to use to back up my work PC. Was very easy to install - had it up and running in about minute. I like the fact that is it small so I can lock it in my desk when I'm not using it. I also use it to back 3 other drives that are HUGE and this little baby handles that with ease. Great product! I highly recommnend it.
