its good for general purpose use.

I use every day for 3 hrs of cycling or walking. Had to get better ear buds and charge every night. Serves its purpose well. For those that do not read instructions, you may have to for certain functions. Good luck.

Not good

It was DOA when I opened it. My son was very disappointed.

It would be a great value if it worked.

I bought this to replace an old, bulky 1GB player. If it worked it would be exactly what I wanted: a small, inexpensive unit to play random songs. First, the ear buds are inefficient; I used ones I had already. Second, even though the documentation says it will play songs in folders and the menu gives that option, it will only play songs in the root directory. That's ok because that is the way I use it anyway. When I played in random or shuffle mode, it kept playing the same song over and over, every two or three songs. I sent it to the manufacturer for repair. After they returned it, at first it appeared to play randomly, but after I added more songs it went back to playing the same one over and over and will not play half of the other songs.

good player for being software based

these little babies are an excellent bargain for a starter mp3 player for a child or tight budgeted individuals. they are VALUE players so dont expect it to play god here. these players are SOFTWARE based meaning if you screw the software(firmware) up you will render them useless. they use some sort of ultra compression to basically shove 2 gb of data onto a 128mb physical flash chip. i had a similar device that lost its software and it only showed as 128mb is how i know. remember flash memory is still expensive so you get what you pay for. for a 10 dollar player though they are awesome! i had a video player utilizing the same method as these do and the converter software it used was able to put forrest gump entirely on the internal memory with room to spare and was quick about it too. they pack alot of features and perform quite well.

this is the second one of these i have bought, the first one rusted out after months of constant use during the summer and me getting my sweaty grubs all over it, and it constantly being drenched from body sweat. it works great for the money, but can be a little quiet with cheezy headpohnes
