nice drive for 40.00
This drive makes an old laptop fast again. Running windows 8 on a latitude d620 with 3gb ram. Boots in 17 seconds and shutsdown in 7 seconds. My laptop is back.

Awesome drive!
I've been using this drive for nearly two years. It's been performing very well and in recent benchmark comparisons with a friend of mine who just got a new 128GB SSD M4 from Corsair, my ratings were much higher! I've done a lot of research on SSDs before buying this one, and Intel's SSDs have always come up on top in terms of performance. This is very good drive, and paying a little more over other brands turned out to be worth it. I highly recommend this drive and would expect the other models from Intel to also be excellent.

fast and reliable
Good price,fast(according to intel CPU),easy to update firmware using intel toolbox, installed on netbook-samsung nf 210,less heat,stable,no moving parts, better battery performance.

Intel SSD Drive is Fast & Easy to Install!
This SSD Drive is a snap to install in a laptop or in a Desktop. Intel even provides hard disk cloning software for free, and that worked perfectly and efficiently. The laptop install is a simple replacement for the 2.5in. HD and extends the battery life considerably. I didn't bother with an adaptor for the 3.5 in. desktop bay since the SSD lies flat on the metal drive tray and is easily secured with a couple of small pieces of tape on the sides. Win XP boots up in about 51 sec. and application programs load in a second or 2. I'll probably upgrade to Win 7 for faster bootup and shutdown but I am very pleased with the improved performance in both my laptop and in my desktop.

Good drive, but now is the time to be on the fence
Im generally an early adopter, with 3x vertex 1 in raid 0 back when the X25 was going for just shy of a half carat diamond. Now that the x25 is within the two dollar per gb ratio, it makes it a worthwhile purchase... except the competition has gotten faster and cheaper. Sure, intel speaks volumes for quality, but this is an OEM drive; good luck with RMA if it breaks down. As for speed, just my luck that the intel mobile chipset I use doesnt support full speed, so Im getting 4k in the 16 and 24 mb per s range, where this should be like 20 and 50. It is still fast, dont get me wrong, but for price to gb, I was hoping for better performance.
