D-Link Ethernet to 22Mbps Wireless Adapter D-Link AirPlus Enhanced 2.4GHz Ethernet Wireless Bridge D-Link announces
another great addition to the D-Link AirPlus™ series of high-speed wireless
networking products capable of transfer rates up to 22Mbps—the DWL-810+ Ethernet-to-Wireless
Bridge. The D-Link AirPlus DWL-810+ converts virtually any Ethernet device—a
set-top box, game console, printer, a laptop or a desktop computer—to a wireless
network device.
Now Ethernet-enabled printers can be shared in the home or office without stringing
cable through walls or ceilings. And gamers can join multiple-player video games
with others on the Internet using a high-speed broadband connection. The DWL-810+
features advanced silicon chip design from Texas Instruments, utilizing their
patented Digital Signal Processing™ technology.
With its Web-based configuration and simple setup wizard, the DWL-810+ is easy
to install, enabling users to quickly connect to an existing D-LinkAir, AirPlus,
or other 802.11b-compliant wireless network. And because it’s a D-Link AirPlus
product, it transfers data much faster than standard 802.11b devices. The DWL-810+
also features 256-bit WEP encryption for a higher level of security for your
communication. Use this inexpensive, compact bridge to expand the number of
devices and peripherals available on your wireless network.

Although the configuration was quite simple this unit would absolutely not work with my Linksys BEFW11S4 router. I spent an hour on the phone with DLINK tech support and the only conclusion we came to was that the two devices were simply incompatible. Beware if you have a Linksys router.

I bought this to use for my xbox. My modem is across the house and needed to go wireless. Wasn't sure about it at first, but ended up working great. Easy to set up and use. Well worth it.

I purchased this product for my Apple iBook because Apple does not sell their built-in AirPort 802.11b cards anymore. The DWL-810+ appears to be a satisfactory replacement.
Set up was reasonable, but it took a second attempt to connect to the device via its 192.168.x.x address. I had to attach the Ethernet cord before plugging in the device; otherwise, the built-in web interface cannot be accessed.
Typing in the WEP key was tedious. Range is reasonable; I get a flaky connection from one end of the house to the other (DI-514 access point), but this is expected.
It works - and it's a D-Link, too!

I purchase this product to primarily use with my Xbox for online gaming and it was a breeze to set up and make-work. Once you get your WEP settings in this device, just plug it into whatever you are connecting to your wireless access point and you are connected to your network or online. Two thumbs up...
