Logitech 910-001105 Performance Mouse MX
The Logitech 910-001105 Performance Mouse MX features Logitech Darkfield Laser Tracking so you get accurate, precise cursor control on virtually any surface, even glass tables (4 mm minimum thickness) where optical and standard laser mice fail.
All optical and laser mice use irregularities in the work surface to track the direction and speed of your mouse. The more irregularities on the surface, the easier it is for the sensor to track your movements. But there just aren't enough irregularities on clear glass for your standard mouse to work. With Logitech Darkfield Laser Tracking, the Logitech 910-001105 Performance Mouse MX reveals microscopic details—allowing you to track on a surface like glass that leaves other mice confused. The tiny receiver for the Logitech 910-001105 Performance Mouse MX stays in your notebook. There’s no need to unplug it when you move around.
What Is It & Why You Need It

Great Mouse
Great mouse, works on all surfaces, extremely responsive. Multiple DPI settings make switching sensitivity easy for use with photo editing. Mouse is apparently sturdy as it has survived a couple of drops already. I would like to see it made out of something more solid though. The price point is kind of high but you do get your monies worth.

LOVE this mouse so much I feed it cheese!
I have been using this mouse for several years now and love it! Although I don't need the glass tracking perk, I love the feel, weight, speed wheel, and programmable buttons. I just replaced first set (one for desktop, one for laptop). Although I think they break down a little sooner than they should, it may be because I put a lot of hours on them.... at least 12-hours per day, every day.

Excellent Mouse
It's a fantastic product. I have two Performance Mouse MX products and an older M1100 which I still use on a 3rd computer. The buttons are programmable, the battery lasts several days of constant use before I have to plug the mouse in via USB to charge the battery, and its extremely comfortable. Been using a mouse since the original Mac classic but none compare to the MX.

Great Mouse but...
It's a bit smaller than a MX1100 despite looking almost identical. DPI is hard to change (you can set one of the standard buttons to change it but you lose that button for something else). Back and forward buttons aren't ideally placed (just a bit higher than is easy to reach, you end up finding the zoom button instead). Overall very nice but it could use to be a bit closer in design to the older MX1100 to improve usability.

Logitech sells throw-away products
I have the previous Logitech mouse model and am very happy with it. I needed another one for my office computer. I had it in my backpack and a small plastic part broke rendering the mouse inoperative. It should cost $4 to replace... Logitech told me they don't sell parts nor repair any products... I should just buy a new one. Really? Throw away a $70 piece of equipment because they don't support their products. No more Logitech...ever.
