screen won't display after 8 months use.
I was liking this computer until the screen went black after only 8 months use. The screen is backlit but all black and won't display my desktop. The weird thing is that I can still use the computer but only with an external monitor out of the HDMI port. Luckily I am still under warranty so am sending back to Gateway (now Acer) for repair this week. A big, big hassle since I am a law student and this is my only PC. 1 star.

Best Notebook, good deal!
Better than the 10 inc notebooks. Performs well except for some HD videos. Home and End keys should have been in place of PrtScn and Pause. Overall excellent portable machine.

Great Product
I was shopping for a mini-notebook, when came I across this great product. It has all the features like that of a notebook except for dvd writer and internal 56k modem. Without these features, it still function well especially the WiFi, webcam and internal graphics driver. Finally, the processing power, memory, hard drive, LCD screen and battery life is the most I really impressed. Thanks. Keep it up.

Great netbook alternative
Almost as cheap as a netbook, but the core solo ultra low voltage processor is much more powerful. In a few benchmarks, it smokes the atom n450 by 40-60%. The onboard x4500HD graphics are also much more powerful than the usual x3150 or gma950 found on most netbooks, offering full 1080p h.264 hardware decoding performance. That lets you watch youtube HD clips (adobe flash 10.1) which you can't do on an atom netbook. HDMI output is a nice addition for TV hook up. 2 gigs of ram runs windows 7 nicely. The only thing this doesn't do that my netbook does is get 8 hours of battery life. I've gotten about 5-6 hours on a charge, which I will take in exchange for all the performance boosts.

Very good small notebook
Have had great results with this notebook. Went ahead and put Windows 7 64 bit on it and has worked well, although bringing it up to its max of 4 gig might help. Like it better than the netbooks because it is still portable, the battery life is good and there's not much this computer can't do. Keyboard is small, but manageable. Wish the function key print was a color other than red because you can't see them in dark conditions well at all. I travel a great deal and have to recommend this computer. It's a really good buy.
