Windows 8 woes

Wonderful Laptop, I use it for any and every need with a laptop. Battery life is decent, running 4 to 5 hours with light usage. Under heavy usage such as gaming or Prime95 or something similar battery lasts about an hour to an hour and a half. Very decent for a $600 laptop. Performance is much better than even i expected. Most games play solid 30-45 fps at medium to high graphic settings, with most older games running at max settings just fine. A serious gaming computer for cheap. One downside, Windows 8. Driver instablility renders most programs slow or even crashing regularly. I simply loaded windows 7 and the thing ran a whole lot faster.

TigerDirect treated me well!

I bought this computer to use for a DAW with Cubase 7. I have had it only for a month but so far so good. It is plenty strong enough. I will eventually replace the 5400 rpm harddrive with a 7200. I also disconnect the wifi and virus protection and some other devices when using it for music editing. It runs a little warm. I gave it 5 stars across the board because of the price and service.

ARTIST IT'S A BEAST

i wanted the power of a macbook pro and got for next to nothing with the low price. I use this laptop mostly for painter 12 adobe cs6 Zbrush4 Maya 2013 but mostly for digital painting i can't tell you how great it is to paint with no lag if your an aspiring this is the laptop for you.

Great Buy

I love the computer. It has been able to do anything I asked. Not a fan of Windows 8 yet, but I expect it will grow on me in time.

Best bang for your buck at the $600-$800 range

If you're looking for a mid range laptop, this one will deliver. At the time I'm currently writing this, you won't find a computer with a i7 processor with 2.2+ GHz that isn't around $1,000. That, coupled with a 2 GB dedicated graphics card and 6 GB of ram makes this a killer deal. The Pros: -Good specs for price. -15 inch screen is really nice and is very bright. -Not very heavy for a 15 inch laptop. -Battery life is decent for a bigger sized laptop like this. -Great for games. -Stays relatively cool. -Decent desktop replacement. -Not as bulky as many other 15 inch laptops out there. The Cons: -Glossy cover and glossy keyboard palm cover. This means fingerprints everywhere, ugh. -The trackpad is absolute garbage. It's too small and feels rough on the fingers. The buttons are also difficult to press. A mouse is a necessity. Do not get this if you don't plan on sitting it on a desk most of the day. -Lots of bloatware.
