Great value for the price
Performance is great and even though it was refurbished, it qualified for a free windows 7 upgrade.

The nature of refurbished machines
When I saw this machine come up on the website for less than 300 bucks, I almost immediately jumped on it. Imagine my dissappointment when I plugged in the monitor and nothing appearred. It seems that the blue connector from the motherboard to the VGA connector was not attached correctly. They say that they thoroughly test every refurbished machine, but such is often not the case. That being said, I am always prepared for problems with refurbished machines. I had a Nvidia 8500 lying around, plugged it in, and like magic, the machine came to life. Now that the machine is working, I have nothing but compliments for it. It is not a strong gaming machine, but runns Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Half Life 2, and Doom 3 just fine.

Good value
I am pleased with the computer. However, the PS2 mouse does not work; the modem worked for a little while and then died. I do not want to return the entire machine, but do not know how to just get the non-working items replaced.

Smooth
This is my second time around with this computer; my first one was stolen. I am so happy with this computer, the only area that is lacking is the graphics card; it needs a stand alone one. Great job HP this computer is quick, and works without any problems, and you can't beat the price!! Buy it!!
