Good Value - Works Fine
This card is working fine for me in an older Dell GX270 tower. I needed to add an additional internal hard drive to it, and all I could find in 500GB HDs were SATA ones. So, I got this card and put it in a spare PCI slot and hooked up the new 500GB drive through it. Everything is happy together and working great. Running XP Pro on this machine. Now I also have the option of an external ESATA drive should I ever want to use one.

Add on SATA connections!
Low profile cards that work well and are priced fairly are hard to find. This card meets borth requirememnts. Easy to install, works flawlessy in stand alone mode or RAID. Plug and go.............

Ext. Backup Solution -faster than USB 2.0
I had to find a faster external backup solution that was faster than USB 2.0 and this works when paired with an eSata cable and a SATA drive. Large files xfer at about 30mb per sec which is GREAT, but a lot of smaller files go much slower, sometimes almost as slow as USB. All in all, it's better than waiting a day for a complete USB backup on my system. I am looking forward to USB 3.0 one day.

I don't see big difference
It is working about 2-3 times faster then USB, but my computer became very unstable. So, I'm going to remove it.

Excellent ESATA card!
Right down to brass tax, excellent card and does what it states it can do. Using it on a Windows 2000 server with 48 bit LBA enabled through Service Packs i watched the transfers while my Veritas back-up was running. 1447 mbs tranfers, thats right just below the 1.5 GBs it says it can achieve. Very impressed with this ESATA card, it took USB 2.0 back-ups from 12 hrs to 2 hrs. One issue i had however, I had to cut some of the metal backing off in order for it to fit into my (HP Proliant Rack mount server). Wire cutters did the trick no problem and it slid right into place. Excellent value and Performance!
