The Midland WR300 Hazard Alert Weather Radio offers S.A.M.E. technology (Specific Area Message Encoding), which preprograms the device to receive only those warnings that apply to your local area. The single-speaker Midland WR300 Hazard Alert Weather Radio offers 30 programmable county codes, AM/FM tuning, date, time, alarm functions, and even auto switch from AM/FM to pertinent all-hazard alerts. For tuning, the Midland WR300 Hazard Alert Weather Radio employs drift-free PLL (phase-lock loop) technology and an easy-to-read blue, backlit LCD.

DO NOT BUY!!!!!
If you want to spend HOURS trying to program this disaster, then buy it. And, remember to put in those 4 backup batteries. Otherwise you lose all the data you took so long to program.

OK radio
For the weather it's great. But for the radio side it's ok. The sound qauality is not what I expected. I read about the sound quality on other sites and people were so so with it.

Good performer. Invaluable!
Radio works well but could be simpler to set up initially. The instructions are clear and precise. It is well priced. I was recently unaware that Environment Canada provided this service. Evertone living in Canada's tornado alley should have one of these! Overall, I am quite pleased with my purchase.
