Takes some getting used to
It's quite fast, and works well. Don't like the mail app. It doesn't work with POP3 mail.

WIn 7
As OS's go, variants of Debian are more powerful and versatile (and familiar for OsX users). Still, one cannot get around need of a virtual machine loaded with Windows for the rare package requiring it. The price remains a bit high, but I decided to get a disk before supplies run out.

Windows 8 is faster than 7, and seems stable
I took a chance on Windows 8 versus 7, I built a new super system and decided to go with Windows 8. After using it for a few days I was ready to go back to 7, but my friends said to give it a chance. I don't like all the Icon's on the main screen, hell I have enough of those on my Smart phone to deal with, but with a slight modification to emulate 7 I guess I can live with it. It's much faster than 7, both logging in and logging out, Overall I give it 10 out of 10. I'm 71 years old, so I guess I'm old school.
