Awesome Product
ESATA and SATA to USB power works great. Extremely fast transfer speeds. However, I only have 1 HDD in the enclosure.

Issue with external use on eSATA
Just ordered one of these as I need high speed external drives for demos using virtual systems on my laptop - figure RAID 0 would help and the price was worth a shot. Didn't work initially with the drives I purchased with it, cleaned off and used two other drives that were on hand still didn't work. Changed from eSATA connection to USB and got a power warning - changed cables to a dual head USB cable and it worked. The problem initially is the USB to SATA power cable provided does not provide enough power for both drives, threw together a power cable with an other power adapter and molex to SATA power adapter and it now works. Upshot - if your are looking to use this externally with eSATA (as I was) you will need to make a power solution. Externally using USB requires a cable with two USB plugs to get enough power to the drives. Oh and DIP switch - really?

RAID Enclosure
I dropped two SSD drives, plugged in both the USB connections. Set the dip-switches pushed the button and It built a raid0, ready to format. Most motherboards recognize this as an external drive. My old a7 MB booted just fine as long as no other HD drives were present.

Serious Unlisted Limitations
This drive can only be used on boards with port multiplier technology, cannot be used as a bootable drive, and is further restricted to external use on boards with nVidia chipsets. If you can connect it to a SATA-II port, you can reach 3GBps transfer rate, otherwise you will crawl at 480Mbps. These limitations are only apparent after you open the package, on page 3 of the manual. The One Button Backup function is proprietary to the 57xx SteelVine Manager program in the package which gives me an incompatability warning with Windows7. An ESATA Hard Drive Dock and external 3.5 inch RAID enclosure I own both give better performance than this enclosure, even if connected to the ESATA port, since 3.5 inch drives at least spin faster than 2.5 inch drives. I've relegated this product to backup duty as a hot-swappable enclosure for obsolete laptop 2.5 inch HDDs.

Better than expected
I had two identical drives that were now each each too small. This was much cheaper than buying a single larger drive. Performed flawlessly straight out of the box.
