Hard to add anything that hasn't already been mentioned. Suffice to say I purchased two units for my two Shuttle systems being assembled. Very pleased!

Use with IDE
Easy to install. My system has only 2 SATA inputs and both are used by HDs. I added a convert strip to change the SATA to IDE. Works fine. The convert assembly works with HD is convertable SATA to IDE or IDE to SATA.

Very fast but makes strange noises!!!
Extremely fast at importing music and games (Itunes setting APPLE Lossless with error correction imports a CD a minute) But at boot and every time I open it, it makes weird noises like leaking high pressure air.

Lite-On IHAS124-04 Internal DVD Writer
I just received this burner to replace a DVD player only that was on my computer.It installed easily and within 10 minutes of installing it I was burning my first DVD.It worked perfectly and it was fast.It also reads very fast.It is quiet and I would highly recommend it for performance and value!

Priced right !
I needed to replace my old IDE drives and didn't want to put alot of money into an older computer. It doesn't come with a SATA cable or mounting screws. At this time, I've only used it a few times, but it worked like a champ right out of the box. Overall I'm happy with it so far.

Lite-On IHAS124-04 (review)
I got this one because this brand is reliable, got it for the wife's computer she needed a dvd drive. it works as it should. does not come with a sata cable or software but I already knew that when I bought it, very good.
