15 Months before problems
Crashes at 15 months of light home use. Segate tools will only say failure. Waiting for Segate C.S. to respond. Quality is apparently spotty.

Great drive
I received this drive on 9-1-11. bought it as a 2nd drive for data storage. My boot drive is a seagate 750gig. So far no problem at all. even with both drives running you can't hear them. I dont know if it would be good for boot drive or not. I dought they would be mcuh of a speed difference. Great price for 1tb. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a storage drive.

DOA
Drive would start and stop, mainly stop. Tried in two machines with multiple power and data cable configurations - all failed. Drive could not have been tested at the factory.

It stores things, but for how long?
I have had no problems so far with this drive, install was smooth, has operated now without issue for 7 months. The PS I ordered when I grabbed this HD has died, so hopefully it will not follow suit, but the reviews seem to say otherwise. No problems here, but I have not been forced to experience failure.

worst product ever
I have had more than my share of seagate drives the last 2-3 have been duds returned all of them but one only because I didn't know it was a seagate inside an external drive. I have avoided buying seagate. It was the maxtor 1 terabyte onetouch. Had it 6-7 months boom dead drive, since it was my back-up i put everything in it. So i have to recover it, rather then send in for warranty. so i cant even get a replacement. so now I have to dissect it and try to repair it or transplant the disks into a similar drive. thanks seagate for selling a bad hard drive. had i known it was a seagate in it I would NOT!!! have purchased it. now I have to get a matching one just for parts.
