The Aleratec 1:1 Cruiser Hard Drive Duplicator is simple to operate and provides maximum utility. It copies hard disk drives with utmost ease. This 1:1 HDD Cruiser is a standalone unit negating the need for a computer. The duplicator is equipped with USB 2.0 port enabling any hard drive loaded in the machine to be accessed by a PC. Each of the drive bay has non-scratch SATA connectors, designed for greater than 50,000 swap cycles. Operating this is made simple, you just have to open the drive bay door to load or unload a drive. Slide the drive in the drive bay and close the drive bay door and high integrity electrical and data connections are made automatically. 3 hours for 1TB, works as advertised
I actually use mine as an external drive with mirror backup, although you could use this as a JBOD and double your space. As an external, it is an expensive solution (I paid 500 for this unit and 2 terabyte drives), but if you want to do pushbutton backups to ensure you NEVER lose your data, it is a bargain. Not as fast as I hoped (3 hours to back up 1TB) but it does exactly what I bought it for.

Great Product
Slide master hard drive in bay one & new hard drive in bay two & press enter. Then Presto! (About a hour each) Cloned eight SATA 146GB hard drives in a day what a great time saver.
