Cisco WVC210 Wireless-G PTZ Internet Video CameraItem#: C50-2702 | Model#: WVC210
Cisco WVC210 Wireless-G PTZ Internet Video Camera Product Details
Cisco WVC210 Wireless-G PTZ Internet Video Camera A Closer Look What's Included
The Cisco WVC210 Wireless-G PTZ Internet Video Camera sends live video through the Internet to a web browser anywhere in the world. The camera supports dual codecs (MPEG-4 and MJPEG), which can be used simultaneously. MPEG-4 gives efficient bandwidth consumption with good-quality compression and is optimal for real-time viewing of video. MJPEG gives optimal video quality, making it ideal for large-volume storage to a network attached storage (NAS) device.
The pan/tilt and digital zoom functions allow you to remotely control the camera movement and focus, giving you maximum remote flexibility. Up to 10 simultaneous unicast users can access the camera at any time. Software is included for monitoring multiple cameras and recording to your hard drive, with advanced search by time and date. Recording can be set up to start by motion trigger or by manual or scheduled recording. Playback is available on Windows Media Player, with no need for a proprietary player.
You can also enable security mode, which tells the camera to send a message with a short attached video to up to three email addresses whenever it detects motion in its field of view. You can then log in to the live video stream if the situation warrants. Wireless security features include Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), and WPA2.

Good Security Cam
The setup is easy (once you learn there are limitations using Safari or Firefox). Had to email the config file to the tech-support to modify it on the count of not having access to IE. Some issues re:motion detection - but resolved. It is basic but works. Great Tech-Support. Using with Mac internal to our office network. Issues sending mail to SSMTP. Overall is a good little camera, we'll buy another. Wish they added an alarm input.

Nice quality camera with many features. I had a few issues with emailing a video when it detects motion.

Good Product
We purchased this camera to remotely monitor our animals due to give birth in the barn. The camera quality, installation of hardware and software was quick and easy. However, configuring the camera for remote access via the internet was tricky. The only reason we were able to get it working was that a friend of ours is a network specialist. An average person would not be able to. If you are going to watch it in your own network you can do that no problem. The problems come when you want to watch via the internet via a different location. I'm still giving this camera a good rating but be prepared to ask for help.

Great cam but I had a few issues
The LEDS on front make stealth impossible but some tape took care of that. I wanted to mount the cam in a corner but there are no brackets for that. The power cord for my application is way to short at six feet. For the price it should have included an external speaker as it is not two way audio without one. The quick start docs are not good if you have a secure router and network. Otherwise the video feed and PTZ are good.

Good Basic Camera
I bought this to be able to check on my elderly parent at home while I was at work. The initial set up was easy, that is, I could easily set up the camera and view it on my home computer both wireless and via ethernet. But you definitely need higher level computer skills to set up the DYN dns account to be able to access the camera outside of the home. (I will say the two technicians who spent an hour on the phone with me were great though.) You also have to use IE as a browser to get all the tools to work (I prefer Mozilla). Lastly the zoom is only a digital zoom and frankly, doesn't work at all.
