WOW
I did a lot of research before buying this T.V and read a lot of reveiws that were negative towards the speakers. My husband is completley deaf in one hear and he loves the speakers. They give off T.V quality sound,,NOT surround sound. Buy surround sound if you want theater like sound. We LOVE this T.V

Love this tv!
I've had this set for a couple of weeks now, and love the picture it provides - the Olympics were awesome! I'm using an external sound system (don't use tv speakers), so any sound issues have not affected me. I appreciate the extensive calibration features, and have used the Spears & Munsil calibration disc, as well some tweaks suggeted in an HT magazine review to achieve an outstanding picture. The ONLY downside vs. comperable models is the lack of an Ethernet port for Internet connectivity. This is not something I would use much, but would be nice if you're inclined to do so.

Major Sound Issue
I have owned this TV for 3 months now and I have issues with the sound. After watching the TV for extended periods of time, the sound will become garbled and stay that way until I take action. There are a few ways to (temporarily) fix this issue and that is to shut off the TV and turn it back on, turn off the cable box and turn it back on, or unplug the HDMI calbe and plug it back in. I called TOSHIBA to notify them of the problem and they are aware of sound issues with several of their TVs but they do not have a fix yet. I had notified them over a month ago and I'm still putting up with this annoying issue. If it were not for this sound problem, I would say that this is by far the best purchase I've made in quite awhile, beautiful picture quality on HD channels.
