nothing like taking a dump on nvidia.
dont buy the competitions card. shader clocks mean nothing, and the difference between 256bit and 512 is tiny unless you have 20gs of ram. we aint there yet.

Vey Nice Upgrade
I originally wrote an amzing review about this card. Well I was wrong. I owned this card for about a month. Then the over heating started. Also the BSOD's. I am not one to write fake reviews. But ATI ...... I am tired of waiting. While I have always given you glorious reviews in the past. It's because I always belived the promises that the next generation drivers and cards will be better "We Promise." Well I'm done waiting. I have been with ATI since the 1600Xt's and I'm finally leaving. I turned this card back in for a GTX 285 FTW. I'm switching over to Nividia. Come on ATI what good is bragging about price for performance if it doesn't work? So After years of being faithful I'm leaving.

Decent performance
I'm a big user of the online game Second Life. This card had some issues, particularly driver issues, with that game. I eventually got it to work with older drivers. I'm thinking if I upgrade video cards again, I will switch to nVidia instead. This thing does have a very nice auto-overclocking fucntion, though, and you can get some nice overclocks with stock cooling.

Good Card
Great card, little pricey considering performance running crossfire with two 4770's. Missing native HDMI but does come with DVI to HDMI converter. Maybe HDMI 1.4 with its higher resolution support will entice them. Overdrive feature works great and had it set to 900/1100 running great, no lockups, or texture issues. PC is in a cubby hole too and no heating issues.

Ok this is the second HIS card I have owned the first was a 3870. Was happy with it till I built a new computer. This 4890 blows it outta the water. Play Crysis on high with 2x AA avg bout 50 to 70 fps. with only the one card. very happy, still gets hot but just set the fan speed in the control center.
