The Motorola Talkabout MR350R 2-Way Radio is loaded with practical features to keep outdoor enthusiasts informed and in constant communication during remote expeditions.
With a range of up to 35 miles under optimum conditions, the radios offer dependable communication in areas not covered by cell phone towers or during emergencies when cell phone communication is overloaded. The rugged radios are also equipped with Motorola’s Push-to-Talk (PTT) power boost feature. When activated, this feature helps extend the transmission range by increasing the transmitter power output while helping to save battery life when no power boost is necessary.
Skiers and winter sports adventurists will appreciate the new design that features extra large buttons making it easier than ever to operate with gloves.
For quiet adventures or when ringing is intrusive, the VibraCall feature can be enabled to silently alert users to incoming transmissions. Additionally, the Motorola Talkabout MR350R 2-Way Radio includes interchangeable faceplates and 20 unique call tones, which allows users to customize their radios to reflect their personal style.

Generally good
Product stands up to previous reviews, however the battery life is poor. At best a charge lasts two days.

Great radios!
Bought these for our narrow gauge railroad. They work very well through dense pine and palmeto up to two miles. After that you need line of sight, which is the same for any low power radio. Nice feel and easy to set up.

Ok product
We do not get the distance, lucky to get two miles. Been using Motorolas since 1995. I would like to find the same quality radio today. We have a lot of high power lines that may be interfering with our distance. The clip broke off one radio the first time used which has been a problem with other radios we have owned.

Good radio at a great price
I had been looking at this radio and reading reviews for several months before purchasing it. The maximum power allowed for GMRS radios in Canada is 2 watts. The FCC website shows that these produce 1.92 watts effective radiated power. In other words this is the maximum power you can buy for a GMRS radio. The radios are rather large and feel well built. The built-in LED flashlight is very bright and will be a handy item. It has all the standard features such as weather alerts, channel scan, backlit display, and a USB port for charging. One often overlooked item is the radio's receive function. I have a Portable scanner with all GMRS frequencies programmed into it and the Motorola picks up signals the scanner misses completely. There are 2 main reasons I bought this radio over all others: 1: Maximum power allowed under Canadian law. 2: Ability to take ''AA'' batteries when the included rechargeable pack dies
