If you need an inexpensive cd-rom, look no further. It doesn't come with a cable, but no big whoop, most SATA capable motherboards come with them anyway. I wish I hadn't baught it only due to the fact that it isn't feasible for my use or situation. It works like a charm though! No complaints! |

I Buy audio books on CD and rip them to MP3 to take with me. Every combo drive that I have used has trouble reading some disks, even brand new, out of the box, or slightest scratched. This HP has read every disk I had problems with. Over 100 trouble cd's since I get it and not one read problem.
It is the 3rd optical drive in my system so SATA is great, Price made it a perfect answer for me. |

I needed a basic CD reader since my multi-disk reader/writer doesn't read older program CDs. This was priced right but, since it was OEM, it did not come with a SATA cable. The cost of the cable negated the value of the drive. Drive works great though and have no problems accessing my programs now. |
