This cooler barely puts out any air and none of the USB ports worked. I've used Vantec fans before in the past and they have been great, so maybe this is just a lemon. The fans are very loud and barely move any air. Perhaps I just received a defective one, but I cannot recommend this product.

So far this has worked great for me. Armed with the warnings given in previous reviews about the delicacy of the a/c connector, I have my cooler set up and running well. This cooler supports a semi-permanent setup so I can be careful NOT to use excessive force on the connector. Delivery service was great too.

This Cooler for 17" notebooks does exactly what it is suppose to do, It has three fan settings which is very nice and works off your home AC outlet or your computers USB port. It is large but that's what I expected from a fan for a 17" screen. The only negative I can see is the port in the rear for supplying power, it doesn't appear to be very well constructed. If you're going to leave your laptop/notebook on your desk or work station it's no problem but if you are going to have to use the plug port on the rear of the cooler by constantly plugging and unplugging your power supply it could be a concern. Good for whay I needed and I'm well satisfied.

I bought this and received it on May 1st, Today is June 8th, and it has broken. It is a very, and I cannot stress that enough, very fragile laptop cooler.
For its value I gave it a three because it does support a 17 inch notebook(my alienware fits quite fine on it), and of course it looks great.
Its features get a 4, because it has 3 USB ports, cool blue lights, two HUGE fans that do their job. But it not being USB powered forces me to give it a 4.
Quality gets a two simply because the power connector in the back is literally glued to the chip, and it breaks off very easily, causing the cooler to fail.
However despite all that it does do its job at cooling your laptop, my laptop's GPU stayed cool at 50-60 degrees, while its Cores stayed cool throughout(Processor). It does do its job.
Final Thoughts: Its a very nice laptop cooling mat, sadly its not very well-built and that ultimately is its biggest flaw.

I sent mine back to Vantec. Sometimes it would work, sometimes not. I liked the dual 120mm fans and speed select switch. Never got the chance to use the USB ports. It fit my 15.4 HP fine, and I was glad it was not USB powered. Something isn't quite right with this one. It needs a little more reliability built-in. If Vantec ever get's it figured out it would be great for home use.

Beware! I was so thrilled to find a cooler that actually FIT my HP 17'' laptop... but, I went through TWO of these with the connection in the back falling apart. I had hoped the first was just faulty, but nope.. the second one just snapped off. It's very poory made.. if you want to set it up, and not breath or move it.. then it'll work fine for you. Otherwise, don't waste your money! It is not USB.

This is sadly my worst review posted to date on Tiger. This product LOOKS great. Pretty blue light's on the fan speed adjust. Fan speeds are next to nothing. Medium and noisy. Fast and Vacuum loud. No USB power. Large ac outlet plug. Item is thick and hard to travel with. It does what its supposed to. Just not as well as it should. Too bad too... I really enjoy my other Vantec products.

It does support a 17'' laptop. However the cooling slots end approximately 1 5/8'' from the side & 1 1/2'' from the bottom & 3'' from the top. The spacing between the cooling slots is larger than the cooling slots are. The air is drawn in through the top and exhausted through the back and sides of the cooler. It might be more effective if the surface area of the cooling slots was larger. It does cool the laptop but for the cost of it it should do a better job. Purchased elsewhere.
