crash, bang boom
I can't tell you how it worked because it never did. It crashed on Vista,so I tried Windows 7 - same result. Waste of money and time.

Waste of time
Does not work very well with Windows 7 64 pro. Crashed my system several times while trying to use it. Did not pick up many channels using cable connection. I uninstalled it and I am going to try to use on an old laptop I having running XP. Didn't work much better, but at least my system didn't crash.

Disappointing
I got this to replace a similar device, which had started ''stuttering'' on image and sound. I use it to record the occasional TV show from cable. I expected it to pick up channels 2-13 and a few others, which suited my needs. It turns out it picks up nothing under channel 8 and only a couple more ''regular'' channels. Lots of other QAM channels but it's better on what will be available on any given day - sometimes beautiful hi-definition versions of regular programming and other times those channels are not there. Fine if you're into ''browsing''. The antenna was useless (zero channels found) in my area, as I expected.

Useless
only picked up a small number of channels and of those the reception was hit and miss (mostly miss). I was going to return it but after shipping cost I would be out more than half of what I paid for it so will likely just throw it in a drawer and forget about it

Great product for the price
Works exactly as advertised, and very easy to set up. Like other reviewers said, the antenna that comes with it is not the greatest (and it's not very sturdy, either-- keeps toppling over), and the DVR software has some room for improvement. But, overall, it's a great value for the price. Would definitely buy again.

Works but falls short
Purchased this item to record programs from my DVR to the PC. Found out after I purchased it that it could not do this. Returned the item and purchased one that did.

The antenna is poor, the sw may be good, but without the reach, it is not very helpful

Like it so far
I have been using this product for the past 3 weeks and am happy with it. Installation was quick and painless (on a Windows 7 laptop, 4GB RAM). Software is very intuitive and the the tuner is quite sensitive: I got almost the same channels over the portable antenna as with my TV. The only complaint - the antenna supplied with the product is fairly useless - it cannot stand on its own, a bigger base would be a small but valuable feature.

fast and easy to set up
installed the soft ware and scanned for the channels, took a few minutes but works well.
