NVIDIA Tesla C1060 Computing Processor Product Details

NVIDIA Tesla C1060 Computing Processor
The NVIDIA Tesla C1060 transforms a workstation into a high-performance computer that can dramatically outperform a small cluster. This gives technical professionals a dedicated computing resource at their desk-side that is much faster and more energy-efficient than a shared cluster in the data center. The Tesla C1060 is based on the massively parallel, many-core Tesla processor, which is coupled with the standard CUDA C programming environment to simplify many-core programming. The Tesla C1060 allows you to keep pace with the increasing demands of the toughest computing challenges including drug research, oil and gas exploration, and computational finance and its many-core architecture meets the computational demands of applications whose complexity has outstripped the CPU’s ability to solve them. This NVIDIA HPC Computing Processor uses the only C language environment that unlocks the many-core processing power of GPUs to solve the world’s most computationally-intensive challenges. Capable of 933 GFLOPs/s of processing performance puts it near the performance of small supercomputers and 4 GB of GDDR3 memory onboard gives you a total bandwidth of 102 GB/s.

Important Note: This board is NOT a video card. It has no display outputs for connecting a monitor. It is a processor that offloads the computation from the computer’s CPU. Also note that for operation under Windows XP, this board requires a NVIDIA graphics display board or motherboard NVIDIA graphics. This is not a requirement for Linux operation.

Best Video Card in the Market???

seriously, THIS IS NOT A VIDEO CARD... this is for professional use, and seriously, it doesnt even have a video output... this card was specialized in computing data only. What i would like to see is Adobe adapt this into their CS6 or later version (if thats possible, tho i think i am day dreaming.)

Dont buy it unlets you need it

This is not a graphics card. Even the box says it is a computeing prossesor (learn to read). This card is designed to provide the computeing power of a cluster of servers in the space of a workstation. These are for work, not play. If your looking for super graphics then get the right cards and put them in a SLI configuration and i promice you that you wont feel nearly as retarded in the end and you will enjoy the graphics alot better.

Great gaming and good for work too

I get 900 fps on crysis! This is one of the best cards on the market for gaming. This will put you ahead of the curve for years. Don't listen to other reviews that say this card isn't for gaming they don't know what they are talking about!

Fantastic scientific computing for the money

THIS IS NOT A GRAPHICS CARD. This is a highly sophisticated scientific parallel computing processor designed to speed up floating point calculations for high end numerical analysis packages (MATLAB and others), computational fluid dynamics codes, etc. No, it will not speed up Windows 7, Crysis, or watch Netflix movies. These people have thrown away more than a grand for nothing. As for what software this thing needs, Mr. dede, that depends on your specific parallel computing application. Certain numerical analysis packages (MATLAB R2010a and SIMULINK) already have built in support for Cuda. Other programs would require a special plugin. Do your homework, folks. This card is for engineers, scientists, mathematicians, or anyone who requires high speed scientific computing on their desktop.
