Great Deal with Rebate
Bought this for a first time build. Fan mounting clips were bent but I was able to straighten them out and get it mounted. So far so good. Much faster than old Pentium procesor. I'm not a gamer so really not pushing the limits.

This thing Rocks!
I needed to upgrade from my old LGA775 CPU. I put this i7 in a Rampage II Gene with 9gb ram. This thing rocks. It runs some very extreme gaming video, without any problems. 25% CPU use even with the the most extreme games, 2 video cards & 2 TV screens.

Awesome performance.
I have this i7 940 at a P6T motherboard with 6 GB 1333 RAM. I overclocked using stock fan by changing the BCLK from 133 MHz to 166 MHz in order to get 3.6 GHz for the CPU and 1333 MHz for the RAM. Very fast. I gets up to 3.9 GHz with Turbo. Win7 CPU index at 7.6, RAM index to 7.8. Awesome performence and value. Could use a better Video card than current HD5570, but I am not a gamer. Next update: a SSD. Buy it now before they get replaced by SB and newer models.

great cpu
dont know much about the differances in cpu's, but installed easy and works good. the only worry is how the fan mounts to the mb. 4 small plugs that fit in holes in MB, seemed hard to get them to set well. so far it hasn't fallen off
