I Call Fowl
Yep, you need a smaller cpu to install an operating system in order to update the bios for the q9650 support even though it says it supports them. NOBODY should have to go through this fiascal. I will revise this when and if I get to update the bios?

IF you have 45MM Q9400 avoid board
My son needed to replace his old board and he picked this board. He has a Q9400 processor. When we put the computer together we got a odd error code. So We went to website and found out to actually get any type of decent service you had to pay them as well, ending up getting the 2nd day EAR service and I registered the product, completing all the hoops required including uploading the reciept. When I finally spoak to someone they wouldn't believe that there was a problem with their product, and requested that we remove the board completely from the case with only the power, heatsink on and have it sit in the plastic casing the board was packed in, still received same error code. When I called them back to try to have them correct the defective item, they wanted to know if I have access to another CPU to upgrade the BIOS cause it seems they had already knew that the BIOS currently on the board didn't support the Q9400 45mm CPU waste of time!
