Intel DX58SO LGA 1366 Motherboard
Take advantage of the most significant architectural change in the x86 architecture in 13 years, the Intel Core i7. The Intel DX58SO introduces a new era for extreme performance. It is an X58-based motherboard that supports Intel’s new generation extreme performance Core i7 Processors as well as both SLI and CrossFireX! Six SATA ports with RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 gives you plenty of storage options for data backup and high speed. Memory support includes up to 16GB of Triple Channel DDR3 memory. Intel has brought back Hyperthreading technology and combined it with a native quad-core design to give support for 8 separate threads in the new LGA1366 / Socket B CPU interface and their replacement for the old Front Side Bus technology, QuickPath Interconnect provides a system bus speed of up to 6.4GT/s. The 2 PCI-Express 2.0 slots can operate at x16/x16 to take full advantage of either 2 graphics cards.

excellent
I expected an increase of 8 when I changed from one thread to eight. Got significantly more. It properly revs the processor fan up when running 8 threads for a while.

There are problems with this board that give the X58 a bad name. 1. only 4 dimm slots. 2. 2 pcie slots. 3. single Gigabyte Ethernet. 4. and no SLI. i like crossfire but when i wanted to test out a brand new pair of 9800gx ssc cards. i was disappointed. If i wanted to get a board like this i would get a less expensive x48 board or 790i one. CrossFire FTW but cant live without sli.

Great Board
I built a new rig over the holidays which used this board. The board is great and was compatible with all of the other hardware (which I bought here, below listing the item numbers). My only complaints would be the BIOS takes forever to load and haven't figured out why that is. Also the SATA ports are horizontal and not vertical and were in the way of my 3.5 drive bay. Great Board
Bought this board pair with a Intel Core i7-920. Win 7 have 2 nvidia 9800 gtx+pci-e 1024mb SO Life is GOOD!
