Would not play, so could not use
I finally used alcohol on a cotton swab to clean the lens, and that worked well after a couple of cleanings. The DVD drive on my Dell Inspiron 1525 did not seem to recognize this as a CD or DVD ... at least, that's the error message I got with the 3 types of disk player software I tried: Windows Media Player, Microsoft Media Center, and Dell Cineplayer. So the product could not be used.

Works on laptop slimdrive
I was having a problem where my laptop would burn DVDs, but not be able to read them. It could read commercial DVDs, but not burned DVDs of any kind. I finally realized it was because the lens had dust on it, and so I brought this. all you have to do is pop it in, play the audio file that automatically pops up, and then problem solved. My DVD burner works perfectly now.

Best CDDVD cleaner
this is the best dvd and cd cleaner i have used it brought back to life my tv an dvd combo player and the picture and sound are great would recommend to everyone

Did not fix the problem
I bought this cleaner to restore operation of a 90's vintage CD player that was only reading bits and pieces of my CD's.
