Customer Reviews
I've had this card now for a little over a week and think it's excellent! I upgraded from a 8800GT and this card is by far superior to the 8800. I like Galaxy's version because of it's custom cooler and blue tint to the circuitry. This card even runs more quiet than my old 8800GT. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a upgrade.
At first i was disapointed, it would freeze, or run slow on all the games. Then i plugged in the OPTIONAL second 6pin power connector and turned off all the background tasks, updated the driver off the galaxy web site, and it worked great! Fast card, with a good ability for overclock. I stuck with it and it payed off!!!!
Very fast graphics card. Powers through Left 4 Dead on all high settings at a smooth frame rate. Powers through UT3 on MAX settings with an average of 50 FPS. Of course it runs games like Quake 4 and Doom 3 very well at maxed out settings. I have a single card (no SLI). It runs a little hot, but that is expected. Do NOT try to overclock this card anymore as it will not work (the screen simply goes black and a restart is required). If you want MORE speed, get 2 and run SLI. Or you can run 3 of these if your motherboard supports tri SLI.
The first time I got this video card I wanted to send it back, because it was crashing on all my games. I always found an error that said nvlddmkm.sys has stopped working, so I looked it up on google. I found answers that worked temporarily. But I was just too tired to do anything about it anymore, so I decided I should do things my way. I decided to delete the nvlddmkm.sys and never bring it back. I thought I had caused my doom but nothing happened, did it freeze? No it was working fine. So I started up crysis to test it out and I almost peed my pants at how beautiful it ran. I will only share this solution once so listen up. Go to the hard drive into your windows folder then go to system 32 and then go to drivers and search for nvlddmkm.sys and rename it to nvlddmkm.sys.old, just in case. then you are free to use the card to it's full potential and spam those explodable barrels because, hell, this thing blasts through life in a flash. P.S. I ran out of letters :
Over heats, in-game crashes and it freezes too, even with the latest drivers. What a pain, I ended up buying the ATI 4870, waiting for it :).
I wouldn't recommend this card to anyone. It's just such a waste of money and source of psychological dissatisfaction.
