works great!!
So far the circuit bd works as described. It is very good addition for Windows 8 PCs. I went back to w7 for the media software and added this bd. Remote works ok too.

works well, does Linux
Bought this to use on Linux as it was known to be compatible in the Tux circles. Well, there's a little compiling to do first, of course. Best with newer distro's with the latest kernels. Windows 7, remarkable performance in Media Center compared to 'cheapie' dongle I had. Set up wasn't bad either. Great HD, controls understandable, and records for me OK. And I use an antenna. Fit my low profile case without crowding. Linux, gotta work on it. Kaffeine works best with V4l back.

Split recordings
I have been in touch with the Hauppauge technical support group trying to rectify a recording problem. I use Windows Media Centre on a Vista platform as the WinTV program only shows me New York listings and doesn't recognize Canada. The device records the programs as requested but often splits the recording into two or three parts. After many attempts to trouble shoot the problem, the technical support group concluded it is a Microsoft issue. Something about a low bit rate causing the recording to stop, then restart. MS did not offer a solution so I am looking for another TV Tuner supplier.

OK card
Well I ordered this to go in my media PC while I am at college. Well when im in my apartment which has basic cable it works ok and records at schedueled times, the only thing I have a problem with is every once and a while it will make a high pitched static sound. I don't know if this is only my card. Remote works if you install the drivers that are on the disc or on the website. But when Im at a relatives place and they have digital boxes the card does not detect channels during scans. overall OK just a bit costly for performance.

Still can't get the remote to work
What is it with Hauppauge tuners? This is the second one that I have bought where I could not get the remote control to work. I should have known better before I bought this one. I guess it was wishful thinking. I previously had a Diamond ATI that worked fine but I sold the PC that it was installed into. I should have bought another one of those. Also, it's impossible to get any support out of Hauppage.
