Do not wast your time or money with this.

I purchased this software with the intention of using it to dictate patient notes into an electronic health record. It didn't do this well at all. It didn't learn well either. The final straw. After several weeks of working with and teaching the software my speech patterns it stopped getting smarter and just got stupid. I tried to have it print, The muscle strength was plus 3, plus 4. It printed, The hustler broke the law. I deleted that and reiterated, The muscle strength was plus 3, plus 4. It printed out something else that rhymed with what I was saying. This went on for 40 minutes. It was a matter of pride. I laughed out loud, typed the correct words, shut dragon down and deleted the program from my computer.

    I love it!

Well, it was on sale and came with a rebate so I figured I couldn't lose too much if it didn't work out. I am not typing out this review but instead using Dragon to do the typing for me. It only took a few minutes to load. Then a short training session to teach you how to speak clearly. I've now been using this for two days and have dictated all my e-mails and opened and closed programs on my computer with only a few glitches that are to be expected when learning something new like this. I have read some of the other reviews that were negative but I have not had any of those problems. I personally would recommend it. This is so cool!

    POS -Save your money

This product sucks. The XP Speech Recognition program works 10X better than this waste of packaging. I spent more time doing corrections than I did saving time with this app. I tried this on 2 different computers with 2 different OS (XP pro and Vista Home 64) -both with dismal results. The only positive here is that I wasted $50 rather than $100 only because it was on sale. The company should change their name from Nuance to Nuisance because this is what this product is.

    Absolutely infuriating!

I bought this software thinking it would be a big time-saver since I'm not a fast typist. Thank goodness for the excellent 30 day satisfaction guarantee! I gave it a week, but this software made me mad enough to actually throw things across the room more than once, and I'm not like that! There were some words I just couldn't get it to recognize no matter how many times I trained it for them, and I had to actually delete words from its vocabulary just so it would stop inserting them instead of the ones I really wanted. Sometimes it would mistake a word for one of its commands and I'd lose everything I just dictated! By the time I went back and corrected all its mistakes, I might as well have just typed it by hand from the beginning. I returned it for a refund and I never want to see it again. It might be ok if you're a REALLY awful typist, and need to type long pages of simple words. Otherwise, don't waste your time or money!
