This cable would have been correct for me to convert VGA to RCA S video if I had already had a PC to TV signal converter but I didn't know it till after the fact. If you already have a converter then it should be adequate

Didn't work for my laptop. Just bought a vga to rca converter, and now I can hook up my computer to an analog TV. Kind of an obsolete cable, because if your video card can hook up to your television, than it has a S-Vid or HDMI cable slot, making this specific cable useless. And reversely, if your video has no S-Vid or HDMI port, than you imperatively need a converter.

Exactly the part you need to go to the TV as a monitor - Svideo and composite outs take your vga signal from your video card and with just a bit of simple configuration change - Done! - it's on TV.
A cheap substitute for those that didn't get the adapters with their video cards, or when buying a used one. - And a LOT cheaper then ordering from the manufacturer - Passed on ATI and Nvidia cards.

I tried this on multiple video cards and integrated video. I even used the special software from ATI and nVidia to tweak the outputs. None worked with this adapter.

Did not work with any projectors or televisions. The video signal gets drastically weakened from it's VGA source. It was too weak to be picked up by anything from either my Laptop or my desktop. Don't waste your time.
