I don't use my Artisan for everyday printing, I use it for special projects such as photo reproductions and DVD labeling. It's packed with features and makes gorgeous, picturesque and lifelike photo reproductions. Having this printer standing across the room, ready to respond to my commands WIRELESSLY and not cluttering my workspace is a major plus. I rated Value with only 4 stars due to the cost of ink cartridges.

Only drawback is the auto duplexer for automatic two-sided printing doesn't come with the printer and I have been unable to find it anywhere. It has great photo prints. I haven't had any paper jams. Wireless hookup was easy. It prints high quality prints extremely fast. If you don't mind not being able to find an auto duplexer for it then it's a great product for you.

This printer has so many great features, it is hard to know where to start. The touch screen, the high quality printing, the separate ink tanks for each color, the many formats that it prints, especially the ability to print on blank cd's, the ability to install this printer on a network, the ease of setup, sheetfed and flatbed scanning, the ability to print double sided, faxing, scanning, copying...
The bad: You can only put about 50 sheets of paper in at one time and the paper cartridge is flimsy. It looks like it does a lot of things, has miriad adjustments, and it seems obvious that it is made for printing photos on smaller (4x6) paper, but it is not clear were to put an envelope. Changing paper in general is cumbersome. I like Canon's feeder better.

I bought this printer specifically because it boasted 2 sided printing. Well, this is only partially true. The 2 sided printing is a kludge in the driver that stops the print job and allows you to place the page back in the tray upside down. Each page must be handled in this fashion. A duplex tray is available for this printer as an additional purchase. I thought this was a serious breach of confidence on Epson's part.
Also, setup of the printer must be undertaken using windows and internet explorer on a wired network ( if you are going to set up wireless ) I thought this was kinda pathetic too.
If you use Linux, many of the features of this device aren't going to be available for a while, and to use the printer at all, you need the latest Gutenprint drivers.
In windows, this printer rocks hard core. Fast, stunningly beautiful, perfect pictures are the norm. I'm spoiled now. The scanner works wirelessly, so cool.
Also note that the windows application suite is fairly massive.

Got Print Media For Your Printer? What is Print Media? Print media
consists of paper, envelopes, cardstock, overhead transparencies, and labels
that are used with printers. Basically, Print Media is anything you print
on.
Printers are
characteristically required to handle print media of various paper types.
When it comes to choosing the right media (paper) for the job, consider two
key factors: the type of document you plan to create and the technology you
plan to use. Image and overall document quality depends on using the correct
paper type for the particular printing job and the equipment to be used.
