Kensington can do better

Had this lock for a year and it no longer works - as if it forgot the combo. It was scary-easy to knock it out of the computer. I checked other sites online and those reviews for this lock are horrible - seems like a disconnect to me. Anyhow, I don't recommend this - spend more money and get a keyed lock instead.

Safe Laptop Lock

This lock does the job unless one uses industrial wire cutters. It is a bit awkward to manipulate but it does the job.

Seems to work ok

Can be a little hard to see the combination numbers and move the dials individually, but overall it's a good buy considering the cost for this one vs similar locks. I leave my notebook locked and only remove it a couple times a week. If I were unlocking once per day or more, I'd want one that is is much easier to insert, work the dials, and remove. But since I don't unlock it frequently the extra effort fiddling with it was worth saving some money. The coiled cable can be a pro or con based on your application. If the point you are attaching to is very close by, it keeps the cable nice & neat. If you are stretching it to max length, you're going to hate it.

I have never had one before, so I can't compare it with another. However it was easy to set, took a little time get accustom to setting it, but it works thus far.I find also its a bit down where it comes to the material its built with.
