Patriot Warp 32GB Solid State Hard Drive
Patriot Warp series Solid State Drive (SSD) is the latest in storage technology. Using the state-of-the-art NAND flash chips and ultra-fast controllers, the Warp SSD drive is available from 32GB to 250GB capacity delivering a blazing transfer speed up to 175MB/s read and 100 MB/s write. Compare to conventional disk drives, built with 100% moving-free parts and housed in a vibration and shock resistance housing, the Warp SSD drives provide a rock solid operating environment even during extreme working conditions, a perfect solution for a wide range of applications that require ruggedness, minimal power consumption, cooler temperature and silent operations. With reliability in mind, the Warp SSD drives has 1.5 million hour mean time before failure (MTBF) and built in wear leveling technology in addition to the standard 2 year warranty to maximize the life span of the drive and preserve your data integrity by automatic mark and block bad data cells.
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Please DO NOT defragment Solid State Drive as it may shorten the life span of the product.
* Drive capacity may reflect some discrepancy limit to data reservation for wear leveling (built in error checking) and operating systems.
** Rated transfer speed may reflect differently from system specification, benchmark, drivers, and operating systems.

Li'll zippy!
Purchased this along with a bare bones system. Can't say much about this little guy except it's been working great and seems pretty quick. Being only 32gig it runs the operating system while a 1tb drive runs the home directory (also where all the downloads, music and videos are stored). It will be nice when the larger SDD's start dropping in price.

The only down side was the size 32GB not big enough for Windows 7 it took 27GB after eveything was installed return it for a 64GB SSD drive. Everything else about it was great much faster than normal hard drive

This thing rocks
After months of dealing with RAID5 issues on standard hard drives, I thought that I'd give this thing a try. I went with this brand because last month I upgraded with same brand memory and was very impressed and this purchase was no different. I went with Ubuntu 9.10 for my OS and man does it ever rock. From push button to online is 20 seconds and shut down command to lights and fans off is under 3 seconds. This thing smokes , and with 4GB memory and 2 standard hard drives configured RAID1 for storage, I have a killer system that rocks every app I run.

Easy to use, but no TRIM command
I bought one with the fantastic idea of puting XP and Ubuntu 9.10 on it. IT WORKED! I have Windows XP, and BF2142 on it. I plan to put BF2 as well. The more amazing thing is that I reserved a remaining 6.7 GB for Ubuntu 9.10 for the root partition minus the tmp and home which I've assigned to separate partitions on a hard drive. On XP I turned off virtual memory which would ruin the performance of the SSD which should be treated like a EPROM because over time the writes will decrease the performance. Anyhow, the drive performs just like a hard drive, but no gronking, no tick, tick, tick. In fact the only thing disconcerting is trying to tell if it is working at all, remind myself to look at the drive indicator on my machine. You won't be able to tell when it saves you time, but it does keep things more silent. Something to mention, unless I'm uninformed, this drive doesn't support the TRIM command (used for wear leveling), but neither do Linux nor XP.

Amazing!
Heard all the hype about SSDs, and am not disappointed in the least. I'm running this 32GB drive as an OS-only drive, and boot times are nil. Quiet as a mouse, and zero stability problems so far (after a month or so of constant use).
