Netgear Adapter
I've been using these since 2008. I have three on my old and older equipment and they work great. Simply use the install disc and the software has worked on other maker's hardware for me. I also use a Netgear router. All good hardware.

Best USB wifi Adapater
At first, I wasn't hesitant to but this product because I never use a USB wifi adapter before. I'm so glad I made this purchase. I was able to finally benefit from the AT&T wifi max that I subscribed. I'm getting the full speed that my internet provider advertised. I have 3 iPhones. iPad, 2 laptops and and desktop connected to both 2.5 and 5 GHz at the same time and I have no issues at all. Downloaded the windows 8 version from their website and it works perfectly.

Frequent loss of connection, followed by death
Gave this a try as part of a recent computer build. This was my first time using a USB style adapter, previous adapters I have used have all been internal. It took a couple tries to get the device to work when first installing. Once it was working, it did ok most of the time, but dropped the signal on occasion. When it worked, the range was pretty decent, giving a good signal at the farthest point from my router and through a number of walls. It got much warmer than I would have expected though and a few weeks in, it just stopped working altogether. Returning it and will try a different brand.

Pretty darn good
I see several poor reviews, I been using Netgear product for some time in my past networking and computer business and never found any problems with Netgear products. The WNDA3100 works just fine and the installation was very easy using the disk. You also do not need to use Netgear installation disk with Windows 7,just plug it into your USB port and wait for Windows to find it. Just a food for thought.

Works fine
It was very easy to install and worked perfectly on the first try. The only problem I have had, and it likely is not the adapters fault, the computer XP locks up a couple times a day for no reason. Never had this problem before the adapter. Can't find the reason but likely due to a USB conflict. Can't recover the computer unless I do a forced shut down. I would purchase this again if needed.
