No Auto Shutdown
This seems to be a good battery backup at a reasonable price. I have not actually had a chance to test it out yet, so I gave it 3 stars for performance. I will report back later after I've had some power outages. Please note: this unit does not connect to a computer and it will not be able to initiate a shutdown if the power does go out.

Great Product
I have several of there throughout my offices and they perform exactly as designed. Battery's seem to last (in my case) about 5 years.

too soon...
You asked for a review on December 13th. The product is an xmas gift and hasn't ever been out of its box. You get 5 stars for your concern, but ask me again in late January, 2012. If I don't like it then, you'll get an earful. :-)

Short Life
We have two of these, bought both at the same time. One already needs a battery replacement after only about 3 months.

Great Brand, Great Price
Needed a second UPS system and this is exactly what I needed. APC has always been a great brand; never had an issue. and as usual shipping receives an A+ for speed and accuracy!

So far, so good
So far this product is working fine! The real test will be when my power goes out. I had another APC UPS, though, that beeped continuously, even though I had replaced the battery. It was over 5 years old. I hope this one lasts longer and doesn't have that problem.

works great
PROS ::: I bought this product to provide backup power for my cable modem, wireless router, and voip gateway so if a storm takes out the power I can still make phone calls and use the internet for a little bit. The devices I have plugged in only draw about 20 watts. After letting the ups charge I unplugged it and timed how long it took before it ran low on power. For me it lasted a little more than an hour. ::: CONS ::: I had a little difficulty plugging in my power cords into the device. The way the sockets are arranged can cause one plug to block another one. :::
