Pioneer DVR-1910LS5PK DVD Writer
The DVR-1910LS Internal DVD/CD Writer from Pioneer, and included software from Nero, enables computer users to create personal videos, make digital photo slideshows, burn music CDs, and back up data files onto DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R and DVD+RW discs with ease. It also works with dual layer discs, increasing the capacity of a disc from 4.7 to 8.5 Gbytes for even more storage space. The DVR-1910LS has a writing speed of 20x for DVD-R and 8x for DVD-R/+R (DL).

Real bargain, replaced Light-on unit that failed in a couple of hours. No problems, light scribe works great. |

This drive was cheap for the brand, so I thought it was a great deal. That is until I tried to install it and it totally crashed my computer. I have been working on computers for over 10 years and I have never seen a drive do like this one did. It destroyed the Master Boot Record on not one but two of my hard drives, I did manage to recover the two drives after several hours of work.
I would not recommend this particular drive to anyone.

I bought this unit because the Lite-ON iHAP222-06 is no longer available. Arrived as scheduled yesterday and everything's been more than perfect. Like the review below, my pc recognized it immediately and it needed no software to read dvd's or cd's. I also installed Nero with no problems at all. The Pioneer is surprisingly quiet and the entire process from ordering to installation has been flawless -Compusa/TD RAWKS! |

I really like this burner.. When installing, my pc recognised it when I turned on my pc.. I think the problem that many are having with this, is because they are installing the software which is Nero... Since I don't use Nero for my burning needs (I use Ashampoo Burning Studio 8 which is Great!) I didn't bother... |

Installing the unit was a piece of cake. On line instructions were very good. Installing the software was a nightmare. Tried to load it several times kept getting errors. Came with just the disc and no install instructions or who to contact for help. Finally contacted nero and got a long procedure that took around 3 hour to get it to work. Didnt like what I had to do to get it to work. Had to go to two different web sites to down load software to get it to work. Now I am trying to navigate thought there software and its not easy so go figure. Would never buy anything tied to nero again.
