Super Smash Bros. Brawl Wii Game
Welcome to a brawl for the ages, where anything can happen, anyone can show up and all bets are off.

Game storyline
In multiplayer games, characters from all Nintendo universes meet up in Nintendo locales to duke it out. In the solo mode called "The Subspace Emissary," the world of Smash Bros. is invaded by an entity called the Ancient Minister and his army of creatures, called "The Primid." Normally, characters come alive in the world of Smash Bros. to do battle, then turn back into trophies when defeated. However, the Ancient Minister starts turning characters into trophies to harness their power, then detonates bombs that suck pieces of the world back into his realm of Subspace. Eventually, all the characters must work together to defeat the invading creatures from Subspace - this is accomplished by playing through side-scrolling levels.

How to progress through the game
For multiplayer games, players pick characters, set rules and locations for where they want to play and then duke it out. In Solo Mode, characters play through a long, side-scrolling adventure, beating up enemies along the way as they watch short cinematics starring their favorite characters.

Special powers/weapons/moves/features
Anything from a Nintendo game could conceivably be in this game, whether it's a musical score, an obscure item or a character that shows up to help the fighters. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is eminently customizable, so players can choose the frequency of items appearing, adjust musical scores and basically play the game however they'd like. Items range from baseball bats to proximity mines to Poké Balls to Assist Trophies, which spawn characters like Hammer Bros. and Sim City's Dr. Wright to attack others.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl in Wii

Reviewed By Our Editors

Have you ever wondered who will win in a fight between Solid Snake and Link? Or between Kirby and Pikachu? You have to wonder no more because in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Nintendo Wii, you’ll have an idea. This multi-player game has fast become a favorite among Wii gamers and it’s not hard to tell why.

Basically, the game has two modes – the solo mode and the multiplayer mode. In the solo mode, also referred to as The Subspace Emissary, you’re in a mission to save the world. Sure, cliché. But to add more fun to your mission, you are about to save the world of Smash Bros (which includes your favorite Nintendo heroes, so essentially you are saving the heroes!) taken over by a creature called the Ancient Minister and his army of creatures, The Primid. What the villains do is that they ‘steal’ the powers of the poor Smash Bros. characters. Your mission, of course, is to defeat the bad guys by getting through all the fast-paced, action-packed stages that will keep you busy.

If the solo mode blows you away, the multiplayer mode will definitely get you hooked in for a longer time. Here’s what happened: all the characters from Nintendo games (and some from other developers, too) come together to battle it out. Yeah. It means that there’s a big chance that the tough Solid Snake will go against adorable Pikachu. And whoever says it’s not fun surely does not know the meaning of fun.

What’s to watch out for is the amazing line up of characters for the Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Nine years have gone since the original Super Smash Bros. was brought to the gaming world, and seven years since Super Smash bros. Melee was released, but clearly, the idea of brawling Nintendo characters still has its appeal on gamers. Impressive characters include Mario, Samus, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Fox McCloud, of course Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid, Meta Knight, Kirby, Pikachu, Zero Suit Samus, Link, Zelda, Pit and Wario, among others, all of which are equipped with their unique abilities.

Compete with your friends or play as a team – there are quite a lot of options for the multiplayer mode. And you know what’s cool? If you finish a multiplayer match that lasted less than three minutes, play the battle back later! Not only that, in the middle of the game, you can actually pause your camera and position it for the perfect shot! Be imaginative in your cinematic angles!

In terms of graphics, Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii has greatly improved since Melee. The character’s looks are enhanced, so are the details on the background. The visual wills really take you to a fervent gaming mode. The audio and sound is another thing to commend. The soundtracks will not leave your head for a long time – but in a good way. The sound effects, too, are placed perfectly that they give more ‘life’ to the game since they are perfectly suited to the characters, even the environment for that more ‘realistic’ feel.

It’s safe to say that one of the strengths of the game is its control. Simple and effortless. In fact, you need only two buttons for this Wii game – the ‘normal attack’ button and the ‘special attack’ button. Not too hard to remember, eh?

You can also give your arms a little work out since you can create variety of attacks, depending on how you tilt your remote. And oh, you can also choose whatever controller you’ll use: you can play with both Wii Remote and Nunchuck, the Wii Remote alone, the Classic Controller, and GameCube Controller.

It will not be a surprise if the Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Nintendo Wii will be a legend just like its predecessors. Revolving in an enjoyable concept, trouble-free controls, stunning graphics and sounds, and over-all great gameplay, the game gives ‘fun’ in the word Brawl.
