Loved Machine but it bombed
I loved this machine. It had all the specs I was looking for. Unfortunately, while I was setting it up, it abruptly powered off and rebooted. I experienced this 3 more times over the next 2 hours of installing software. I then noticed that the plugged-in power supply was no longer indicating it was charging. The battery slowly started to drain. I finally gave up and got an RMA. I love Asus machines, but this particular refurb was a lemon.

Great - except for jumping cursor
This laptop did everything we wanted it to. We loved the long batter life especially. We got a refurbished model. Unfortunately, the cursor would randomly jump around the screen - back a few fields or somewhere else in the paragraph! This caused a lot of problems - data typed in the wrong fields, mostly. We tried downloading the drivers, turning down the mouse sensitivity, calling Asus. We never did find the problem and had to return the product.

Buy the extended warranty!
I bought this laptop at the end of Sept, 2012. About 2 weeks before the warranty was up, it started rebooting spontaneously. Never got a blue screen of death. It would just power down and power back up as though you held the power switch down. After weeks of trying to prove the trouble into software, I scrubbed the hard drive and reloaded the image I made when I took it out of the box. Same problem. Sometimes it will run for a day. Sometimes it will reboot 2, 3 or 4 times in a 30 minute period. The CPU, motherboard, and hard drive run cool. ALSO, I tried to register the computer, the manufacturer had no record of the serial number. I found a utility that extracted the serial number from the system board and it was different than what was labeled. I also used another utility to extract the OS license number from the software and it was different from the label on the laptop. The one in software was correct. Buy the extended warranty.

Good laptop
I had problems with the laptop at first. I would just update a software and then all of sudden it restarted by itself. I shut off the spyware and then it was stable. I don't know if that will happen in the future. For the price, it still a good buy.
