xi3 AMD Dual-Core 3400e 1.8GHz, 2GB DDR2 RAM, Product Details

"At 4 inches or less per side, the cube-like Xi3 Modular Computer is not only one of the smallest desktop computers on the planet, it is also one of the most unique computers ever invented—especially for a machine powered by a 64-bit dual-core processor designed for any x86-based operating system or applications. But we’re getting ahead of our story. The inventor of the Xi3 Modular Computer began by first shrinking and then breaking the standard computer motherboard into three smaller boards that form a “U” shape when connected together. This new computer architecture makes it very simple to repair, replace, modify and upgrade any of these internal boards—even for a non-technical user. Such an internal building block approach means that the expected life of the Xi3 Modular Computer is six, eight or even 10 years vs. the standard 3-5 years of most desktop computers. How? By making it super easy to add new functionality and/or capabilities to your Xi3 Modular Computer by replacing an existing board with a new board containing updated ports or connectors—such as a USB 3.0 port or a Fibre Channel port. Replacing a portion of an Xi3 Modular Computer instead of an entire computer means that overall acquisition costs can be reduced significantly without sacrificing functionality. Such an extended life profile also helps cut down on the amount of eWaste polluting the environment, as well as the costs associated with disposing of old computers and electronic components Operating costs for the “green” Xi3 Modular Computer are also significantly lower than other desktop computers. Specifically, although it utilizes a 64-bit 1.8GHz dual-core processor, the Xi3 Modular Computer needs a very ecofriendly 20 Watts of electricity to operate. By comparison, most dual-core desktop computers require at least 100 Watts, while some need as much as 400 Watts to operate. In other words, Xi3 Modular Computer users are seeing electricity use savings of 80 percent or more—clearly a substantial decrease in energy usage, while also providing additional benefits to the environment. Taken in concert: ^^ the extended projected lifetime, ^^ minimized eWaste costs, and ^^ significantly lowered energy usage the Xi3 Modular Computer provides incomparable Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) benefits, especially for organizations with hundreds, thousands or tens of thousands of desktop computers. However, such TCO benefits do not require sacrificing computing performance. For example, because the Xi3 Modular Computer (5 Series model) is designed with a dual-core AMD processor, users can take advantage of any x86-based operating system or application available today. Users can take advantage of the dual monitor support of the Xi3 Modular Computer to simultaneously drive two 2560x1600 display outputs. And connectivity? How about six USB 2.0 ports, two SATA ports, three reconfigurable audio ports, and a 1Gb Ethernet port. Power-wise, the Xi3 Modular Computer runs at 3Amps 19Vdc (with a range of 12-24Vdc). All of this is combined into the elegantly designed Xi3 Modular Computer metal chassis to produce a powerful machine small enough to sit on the palm of your hand. For example, for organizations where space is at a premium, the Xi3 Modular Computer not only starts with a tiny cube-like chassis measuring 4-inches or less per side and weighing less than two pounds, but its design means the Xi3 Modular Computer can be mounted or attached to virtually any flat surface. Specifically, by using Xi3’s custom mounting brackets, Xi3 Modular Computers can be mounted under a desk or table, on the back of a computer display/monitor, onto a wall or ceiling, or even attached to a vehicle fuselage or incorporated into a larger system. Last but not least, the casing of the Xi3 Modular Computer is also replaceable, with seven different color casings available today. Customizable colors are also available, as is the ability to etch a company logo or name directly onto the chassis itself. Primary I/O Module General Specs: ^^ eSATA 3.0, 2.5 and 1.5 support ^^ USB 2.0 support ^^ PMC Optical Interface ^^ Internal Storage: 32GB mSATA SSD (up to 128GB) ^^ SSD Quick Boot (Windows) External Connectors: ^^ 2 – eSATA 2.5 Ports ^^ 6 – USB 2.0 Ports (root hubs) ^^ 3 – Reconfigurable Audio channels ^^ (1-3, Microphone, Headphone and/or Line-in/Line-out) Internal Connectors: ^^ 1 – USB 2.0 Connector ^^ 1 – Fan Connector Secondary I/O Module General Specs: ^^ DirectX Support: DX11 ^^ Open GL: v2.0 ^^ Video Decode: UVD 2.0 – VC-1, MPEG2, MPEG4 ^^ HDCP: v1.3b (up to 1080p) ^^ Side-Port Memory: 128MB (DDR2-800) ^^ DP/DVI: 1080p, with Digital Audio (HDMI optional) ^^ Max Resolution: 2560x1600 @ 32bpp (dual output capable) ^^ Dual Display Standard: DVI-DL + VGA, DVI-DL + DP, VGA + DP (HDMI converter optional) External Connectors: ^^ 1 – Ethernet connector (10/100/1000) ^^ 1 – Display port (DP/DVI, HDMI optional) ^^ 1 – Display port (DVI-DL + VGA, DVI-DL + DP, VGA + DP) ^^ 1 – Power connector (19volts DC @ 3.42amps)
