Creative Labs 70SB104000000 Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCIe
Why settle for basic, built-in sound? Your music and movies deserve Xtreme Fidelity. Add the PCI Express® Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ Xtreme Audio sound card to your PC and turn your downloaded music into your own personal concert. Watch DVDs or downloaded videos with full cinematic surround sound. Plus experience 3D audio and EAX effects in games.
Revitalize your downloaded music and movies
Restore the details and vibrance your music and movies lost during compression. X-Fi technology intelligently enhances the highs and lows so you'll hear it all-crisp cymbal crashes, wailing guitar solos, screeching tires and booming explosions.
Surround sound from your stereo music and movies? Yes!
Expand your stereo music and movies into surround sound. Voices are centered in front of you. Ambient sound appears all around you... just like a live performance. Listen on a pair of desktop speakers or a full 5.1 speaker system.
Hear headphone surround that sounds like multichannel speakers
Slip on your headphones and X-Fi technology moves the sound away from your ears and into the space around you. You'll be surrounded by multiple virtual speakers and feel like you're sitting with your favorite band or in the best seat in the movie theater. Games sound better too with positional audio that's so accurate you can locate enemies by sound.
Enjoy realistic sound effects in games
Experience realistic sound effects and 3D surround that make you feel like you're actually in the game. Over 400 existing games use Creative EAX® sound effects to provide better gaming sound.

Its a decent sound card, I enjoyed it most when I first got it. I have it hooked up to my stereo system. Just found out today that it doesn't have ASIO capabilities which I require to play my guitar directly through the card to my speakers. If you don't plan on recording or playing guitar through it, its a nice card for listening to music or playing games. Decent amount of modifications you can make to perfect the sound you hear.

Got tired of trying to get SBLive5.1 (CT4760) cards to work in both my systems. The latest (2003) Live Driver Pack would install OK, but then Surround Mixer speaker tests would fail, and sound dropped off in some games. This X-Fi installed PERFECTLY using the included CD, then ran the auto update,.. and the sound was amazing in Nascar2003. But X-Fi card completely blocked one of my fans on my GTX275, and after a couple races I noticed that end of the card getting hotter than open side. So put the card in daughter's XP SP3 machine, again, seemless install. GREAT sound,.. passes all speaker tests repeatedly,.. and doesn't block her video card cause her PCIE 1.0 slot is above her PCIEX16 slot. Bought two originally,.. easilly RMA'd one and ordered the PCI X-Fi Xtreme Gamer for my rig, so will have clearance for vid card fans. EASY setup in XP32 SP3,.. GREAT sound,.. with old 5.1 sound system.

My System: Dual boot via the BIOS. XP Pro, Win 7U 64 Bit. In each instance the system initally reconized the card as a MS product. With XP, I simply stopped the OS from continuing any further with installing any device drivers, and then ran the installation from the CD. It worked as advertised. With Win7U, the OS operated so fast, I couldn't stop the recongition process. I then uninstalled the drivers via Devise Manager. (I had to do this twice). It finally recongized the card for what it really was, and then proceeded to download, on its own, the appropriate drivers and software. Creative's site had driver for my OS but it refused to cooperate. The automatic download and updates made everthing work.
PS The Audio control panel for each OS if different one from the other.
My only beef: No SPDIF pins on card.

Dear unwitting consumer
The card you see here does not contain an X-fi chip, EMU20k1 or EMU20k2. This card is really a fancy version of the CA0110 chip aka Audigy SE. Yes it has the crystalizer software but that is the only real X-fi feature. I would suggest reading actual reviews before purchase. This is not worth the money compared to a real X-fi.
