Black Box High-Speed Line Driver LD485A-HS Product Details
Because it has selectable settings, you can customize the driver for your application. Setline bias to match RS-485 equipment, such as industrial shipping devices. You can set the RS-485 driver to be enabled either by RS-232 control signals or by data, or to be constantly on. Select normal operation or loopback testing.
Surge-protection circuitry - transorbes, zener diodes, and inductors - guards the RS-485 side against induced surges. Optical isolation (on some models) is available to protect your data from ground-loop surges and interference caused by industrial machines. A port time-out feature prevents any single port from tying up your network.
These line drivers are transparent to data, and they can transmit data short distances at up to 115 kbps or as far as 4000 feet (6.4 km) at 1200 bps.
