Great product
This product is easy to use even for first timers. The menu is easy to navigate and very good about not letting you make a mistake. The only draw back I've found is that some of the functions are not available if you are not using a Sony camcorder or camera. Which is not out of the ordinary for Sony products. There are ways around that, of course, but they take longer than instructions say for recording times.

Excellent Product
From the start up to the finished DVD this machine was easy to use. The menu screen took us step by step through the process. Even first time users have no issues. This machine lives up to its billing. Thanks Sony!!!

Great Product
Leave it Sony to take care of a time consuming job of transfering tape or camera video to a DVD and make it simple and with great quality. This product is the greatest. I have over 200 old VCR tapes of old movies and started seeing them age rapidly. Decided to copy to DVD so I could preserve them and not have to spend from $18- $20 each to replace with DVD's. This machine does the trick. Since all commercial video tapes have copy protection, all you need is a small time base generator in the video line to correct it. The videos are almost perfect. You do have to remember these came off low definition video tape and now is on a DVD with a lot higher resolution, so the noise will be seen in the copy, but it is very minimal. I sure enjoyed seeing these old movies again. Also have 8mm tapes from a video camera, still works so slick. Thanks Sony.

Does not record/transfer Camera RAW
Terrific product, except for one failure. As a professional still photographer, I intended to transfer directily to gold, archival DVDs from my cards, thereby using this as an additional backup to my other archiving procedures. jpgs are transferred fine, but not RAW data ... which is critical to any pro still photographer. I've been searching for some firmware to solve this situation, but so far, no luck. If this can be resolved ... I'll change my review to all 5s.
