I also received the 3V406-US not the 3V506 as listed here. The unit works well with standard GPS interface, female voice by default which tells you where to go (my wife often does that too so I am used to it) but there are no Canadian maps built in, they have to be added on a 1G SD card. The instructions to access the Canada maps are Ok from Invion and you can download the maps from the site given. However there was a problem with the software as it created a file called ''destinator apps'' which the user must change to ''destinatorapps'' (no space) or the device will not recognize the Canadian maps. When I emailed the company they sent me the same directions that they had already emailed me rather than addressing the problem I had asked them about. Once fixed this is good value, especially if you do not travel out of the US, but be ready to fiddle for Canadian maps (and spend the extra $ for the SD card and reader). I do not see any ability to go elsewhere. (Mexico? Europe

Keep in mind that I have never owned a GPS. Opened box gave it a once over and noticed it is not a 3V506, but a 3V406...I returned 2 times and on 3rd try I decided to keep because I think it is better to have internal maps verses using the Memory Card..This way you can have a memory card with music or pictures and still have the use of the GPS directions.. Out of the box I turned it on and had no trouble programing the unit. It was very easy to do without opening the manual...I did use manual to find all the extras built in and it still did not tell me all...The Invion 3V406 gives you speed, destination time arrival,elevation and more. I used unit on a local trip to the grocery store and it was pretty much on the money...I took on different roads trying to confuse it, but it sure kept up with me..I have compared many GPS systems and for the money this one cannot be beat..I saw units costing twice as much that did not have the features this one has....It comes with text to speech.
