Wrong card
Card I ordered was advertised WITHOUT RAID. Card I received had RAID. I set it aside and did not use it!! DAKeller

I saw the negative reviews but...
It turns out that the last folder on the driver disk had the proper driver for Windows XP. I have SP3 installed too. I was getting frustrated and tried ALL the drivers on the disk. Finally, one of the last folders had a workable driver. My SATA DVD-CD-ROM drive cannot be a boot device but, that's not a severe problem for me but, will be a concern for others. I just have to swap cables should I need to do so. Buffering is a slight problem for playing some MP4 video files. DVDs play fine.

Not recognized
This card is inexpensive but my computer did not recognize it. It is not returnable. Such is life. I suggest buying locally so you can return a card if it doesn't work out in your machine. I found one for $30 that launched right away. No issues whatsoever. Now a happy camper.

It was working...
I installed the card and everything worked. I was surprised. (As my MB is 9 yrs. old) Anyway, everything worked fine for about 1 week. Then, it would not work anymore. I reinstalled the card. But, nothing seemed to help. So, I uninstalled it. And, the card is sitting on a shelf now. Oh well, ya win some & ya lose some.

Not for the faint of heart
There is essentially no documentation, so you'd better know what you are doing. Be aware the driver CD is a miniCD possibly not loadable on all drives. I didn't use the RAID features. The external SATA uses an internal SATA connector. I found a matching cable, but everything would hang when it was used. I abandoned the external, connected my external drive to an internal connector after punching a hole in the computer case. I use the external drive to be a backup for the internal drive, so it sees little use. I use the drives for data only, so no comments on booting or using as a system drive. A comment on external cables: Use a good one, the first one I had wasn't sufficiently shielded and the external drive would go offline and online as I moved the cable.

JUNK
Don't waste your money. I bought it so I could run a sata drive on my sony Vaio. Finds the board but never has found a drive. Rowdy

Best valued product I've found
Used it to attach a secondary HDD (500GB Seagate Barracuda) to a Intel D845GBV motherboard. Works very well in Windows XP Pro.

biggest big of junk
so far the two samsung drives and the mnsscool is total junk, because I have no drives right now i can not get downloads for either drives or unit, from site locations for my items. jd
