Top of the line!
Bought it for my 17 year old son who's in college. It is his first laptop. He likes it very much, calls it a lifesaver, especially when preparing for his finals. Said he could not imagine what he would have done without it. Considers it a quality product. Had every program imaginable loaded onto it by the IT department at his school. Had it for about 4 weeks now and so far it works fine. Good value for the price

Great Computer - If the Keyboard Worked
When I can get the keyboard to function properly, this is a very nice laptop, and a good bargain for the money. Unfortunately, several keys do not function properly, especially the space bar. I am debating whether to try to exchange the computer I received for another of the same type, or whether to try another brand.

NEVER buy Tosiba
If you want to change anything that comes with a computer then don't buy Toshiba. If you plan to leave it all alone it's a good to better unit for the money. I tried to take off the pre-installed Norton and add a free virus program that uses very little resources. I had added a special program I use for work and downloaded the electronic user's guide. Anyway, my work program and the electronic user's guide and adobe acrobat reader disappeared. A restore point never worked and other things weren't right. Thankfully I had made restore discs as I was unable to restore from the restore partition and it took over an hour of trying to get into the bios to boot from a dvd. Then it took seven, yes seven hours to restore the computer. I think the Norton's is gone, last time when I did the restore point the whole program came back but the other stuff was missing. I'm afraid to install the virus software now. It is working great and is fast.

Great laptop for the price
I got this laptop three months ago and it still works great. It has a nicely-sized keyboard for larger hands, and you get used to the touchpad placement. I only have a few complaints: Toshiba doesn't have a support page devoted to this model, though they do have several for models with the same software requirements. Also, the keys are visibly losing their finish in places where I type repeatedly (i.e. the right side of the spacebar). The plastic around the screen feels a little cheap. The battery life isn't great, but much better than I've seen in most other laptops. Otherwise, this is a robust laptop ready to perform. It handles 3D gaming very well, no lag that I can see, but anyone using a laptop solely for gaming should get something with a devoted graphics card. The 8 gigs of RAM and 64 bit OS, combined with a 3rd gen Intel i5 core, make this laptop the best in its price range, in my opinion.
