This is more of a question than a review. This is my third Computer from Tiger Direct and until now I have never had to get help in setting one up.I see that several of you have had issues installing windows. My machine is not accepting Windows XP Home Edition. Can anyone give me some insight on how to load this? Thanks |

Ok at first when i saw this computer i was like ok its a refurb no big deal. Well i got it and everything seemed fine. It was a nightmare installing windows on it and also the drivers are near to impossible to find. It shutsoff, freezes and most of the time the thing wont even turn on. I have worked with computers for the last 10 years and this is by far the worst one i have ever had to deal with. It was failed from the start. I wouldnt suggest purchase of this machine. Also theese machines are BTO custom from HP. That means it will be even harder to get the drivers for them because HP doesnt know what is all on it. I do not recomend this product for anyone. |

I like this computer, but I have one issue. Finding the appropriate drivers has been a nightmare. I called Famous Brand and the driver site they recommended didn't help too much. I wish I had read the small print sooner, but for the price, it was still a good buy. Wish they had more. |

This computer, at least the one that was delivered to me is a HP Pavilion a1750y. Probably a corporate lease return of some sort. Everything seems in order. Arrived as expected. I am not sure what is refurbished on this computer. Will be installing OS shortly. VERY QUIET. I like that. I anticipate that you will have to go to the HP support site to download some drivers. Zero cosmetic defects. May not be the best choice for a inexperienced computer user. |

Excellent computer, except I screwed it up big time, and destroyed it (I tried to put a PCIe card in it and ended up really messing up the video so it no longer worked, and then I destroyed the hard drive by corrupting it and could not reload Win XP). However I ordered another one since these are so cheap and I think the motherboard will be compatible with our Digi Rack 002 and Pro Tools. When the new computer arrives and I install Win XP Pro and try it with the Digi Rack 002. I'll write another review and let everone know how it went. Screaming Monkey Records ROCKS! |
